It lets you hunt for flares, prominences, and sunspots by bringing images from the Solar Dynamics Observatory, which was launched in 2010 to observe the Sun 24x7.
The app brings high resolution images of the chromosphere, photosphere, and corona and it can update your Live Tile and the lock screen background image to keep you updated on the latest activity of the Sun.
