CSiBridge V16.0.0 Trial

Modeling, analysis and design of bridge structures have been integrated into CSiBridge to create the ultimate in computerizedengineering tools. The ease with which all of these tasks can be accomplished makes CSiBridge the most versatile and productive software program available on the market today.

Using CSiBridge, engineers can easily define complex bridge geometries, boundary conditions and load cases. The bridge models are defined parametrically, using terms that are familiar to bridge engineers such as layout lines, spans, bearings, abutments, bents, hinges and post-tensioning. The software creates spine, shell or solid object models that update automatically as the bridge definition parameters are changed.

CSiBridge design allows for quick and easy design and retrofitting of steel and concrete bridges. The parametric modeler allows the user to build simple or complex bridge models and to make changes efficiently while maintaining total control over the design process. Lanes and vehicles can be defined quickly and include width effects. Simple and practical Gantt charts are available to simulate modeling of construction sequences and scheduling.

CSiBridge includes an easy to follow wizard that outlines the steps necessary to create a bridge model.

Completely integrated within the CSiBridge design package is the power of the SAPFire® analysis engine, including staged construction, creep and shrinkage analysis, cable tensioning to target forces, camber and shape finding, geometric nonlinearity (P-delta and large displacements), material nonlinearity (superstructure, bearings, substructure and soil supports), buckling and static and dynamic analysis. All of these apply to a single comprehensive model. In addition, AASHTO LRFD design is included with automated load combinations, superstructure design and the latest seismic design.

BRIDGES: The Science and Art of the World’s Most Inspiring Structures

The Brooklyn Bridge, London's Tower Bridge, San Francisco's Golden Gate--bridges can be breathtakingly monumental structures, magnificent works of art, and vital arteries that make life vastly easier. In Bridges, eminent structural engineer David Blockley takes readers on a fascinating guided tour of bridge construction, ranging from the primitive rope bridges (now mainly found in adventure movies), to Roman aqueducts and the timber trestle railway bridges of the American West, to today's modern marvels, such as the Akashi-Kaiky? Bridge, which has the largest span in the world. Blockley outlines the forces at work on a bridge--tension, compression, and shear--and the basic structural elements that combat these forces--beams, arches, trusses, and suspensions (or BATS). As he does so, he explores some of the great bridges around the world, including such lesser-known masterpieces as the Forth Railway Bridge (featured in Alfred Hitchcock's The Thirty-Nine Steps), and describes some spectacular failures, such as the recent bridge collapse in Minnesota or the famous failure of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge in 1940.

Bridging the Dutch Landscape : Design Guide for Bridges

Due to the major presence of water in the Dutch landscape, Holland is a country that boasts many bridges. ipv Delft, an industrial design bureau that has become the Netherlands' bridge specialist, has to its credit more than 240 bridges. In this design manual for bridges, they share their expertise by focusing on the design process and looking at affordable, clever bridges from an architectural and technical perspective. Each project features photos, construction drawings, materials, dimensions and budget/costs.

Composite Bridge Design for Small and Medium Spans

Size: 7.4 MB | Format: PDF | Year: 2002 | pages: 386

The research project was undertaken to develop and test new composite bridge concepts that are easily buildable by the bestpossible application of construction materials and a high grade of prefabrication. One of the problems was the use of hybrid girders which lead to significant material cost savings and to a reduction of girder heights. Therefore the fatigue rules given in ENV3 Part 2 have been validated experimentally and by numerical studies with a special regard to the local yielding of the web.

A further investigation were the use of dismountable shear connectors and headed studs with a diameter of 25 mm which are not considered in the codes until now. Studs with a diameter of 25 mm are favourable for bridges due to their higher shear resistance. This test series has included static and dynamic Push-Out tests.

Studies on the behaviour of joints of composite bridges took the special behaviour of partial and full prefabricated slabs into account. Reference bridges have been used to design the test set-up and cycle loadings were applied to simulate moving traffic loads. The investigations were performed in order to verify the opening of the joints, the fatigue behavior.

Study on High-rise Structure with Oblique Columns by ETABS, SAP2000, MIDAS/GEN and SATWE

Facing a large number of new-type complex structural system and progressively consummate earthquake-resistant theories, the conventional software can no longer meet the needs of calculation and analysis. Meanwhile, some international finite element programs, such as ETABS, SAP2000, MIDAS/gen and SATWE, were updating themselves but remained respective limitations. In this paper, response spectrum, time history and linking slab in-plan stresses analysis were executed combined with a practical project by these programs, which were also compared following the analysis results.
